Few questions pierce the heart more deeply than this:
“Why do children suffer? Why do they get cancer?”
It’s a question that has broken hearts and shaken faith for generations.
But the answer lies not in blame or punishment — it lies in understanding God’s larger plan of reconciliation, where even suffering has meaning and purpose.
🌍 1️⃣ Creation Itself Is Broken — For Now
When Adam fell, corruption entered not only humanity but all of creation.
“For to vanity was the creation made subject, not of its will, but because of Him who did subject [it], in hope.”
— Romans 8:20 (YLT)
This means disease, decay, and death are not personal punishments — they are part of a temporary creation that God subjected in hope.
Even the very atoms of the universe groan for redemption.
Children get cancer not because God is cruel — but because this world, for now, is under the weight of corruption.
Yet, God has already planned the cure — a full restoration of all that was lost.
💫 2️⃣ Suffering Is Not Punishment
When Jesus’ disciples saw a man born blind, they assumed sin was the cause. But Jesus corrected them:
“Neither did this one sin nor his parents, but that the works of God may be manifested in him.”
— John 9:3 (YLT)
Innocent suffering can still reveal divine glory.
Sometimes through healing, sometimes through endurance, and always through the promise that nothing will be wasted.
Every life — no matter how short — has eternal purpose.
🌈 3️⃣ Death Is Temporary
Death is not the end. It is only a pause in God’s greater plan.
“For as in Adam all die, so also in the Christ all shall be made alive.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:22 (YLT)
This verse doesn’t say “some” — it says all.
Every child who has ever suffered or died will live again.
Every tear will be wiped away. Every broken body will rise in glory.
The cross was not a rescue mission for a few — it was the redemption of all creation.
🕊️ 4️⃣ God’s Story Ends in Restoration, Not Destruction
“And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and the death shall not be any more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain.”
— Revelation 21:4 (YLT)
The pain of this life is not the end of the story — it’s only a chapter in a book of universal healing and renewal.
What we call “loss” now will one day be gain, when every life is restored and made whole.
✨ 5️⃣ God’s Love Redeems All Suffering
“For the sufferings of the present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory about to be revealed in us.”
— Romans 8:18 (YLT)
In the end, even the darkest suffering will be overshadowed by God’s infinite light.
The children who have suffered will shine with greater glory — living proof that nothing is too broken for God to restore.
💖 The Final Word
So why do children get cancer?
Because this world is broken. But this brokenness is temporary.
God has already written the end of the story — and it ends with life, joy, and restoration for all.
Every tear will have meaning.
Every loss will be restored.
Every child will live again.
“That God may be the all in all.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:28 (YLT)
🌟 God’s justice is restorative, not retributive. His purpose is reconciliation, not destruction. His love never fails — not for any child, not for anyone. 🌟
